Kwa Maritane Lodge

Located on the slopes of a volcano in the heart of Pilanesberg National Park, Kwa Maritane Lodge offers free WiFi and the reserve boasts two tennis courts and two swimming pools of which one features a water slide.

We had a fantastic experience at Kwa Maritane Lodge. The well-maintained property and spacious room provided a comfortable retreat. When booking in, we discovered that our stay also included a game drive which was a pleasant surprise. After exploring the park, the refreshing swimming pools were a welcome respite. Enjoying breakfast and dinner with a view of elephants, rhinos, impalas, and other wildlife from the restaurant, made our stay at Kwa Maritane Lodge exceptionally memorable.

Excellent stay in idyllic surroundings. Child friendly & great base to go for game drives.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful location. Staff were attentive & polite. The food was of a good variety & well presented.
Sometimes there was too much gardening noise! You want to enjoy the tranquility but everyday we were there the noise of machines was disturbing! The pool facility could have been better & cleaner. We understand maintenance needs to occur but maybe more could be done early eve rather than closing a pool during hot days!

What was the highlight of Kwa Maritane Lodge
Excellent with kids
The lodge is excellent, probably the easiest to access from Johannesburg. This is very good with kids, there is a swimming pool on the side where they can play without bothering other guests, with a great slide. The dining room is wonderful, with a view on a watering hole. The hide, just a minute away through an access tunnel, is also a big plus.
The one issue for us were the game drives. The lodge is far from the main area of the park, so every game drive starts with a long stretch which is already notionally within the park but which the drivers clearly see as a transfer. The vehicles are the large 4x4 trucks with 22 seats. We also had an unfortunate experience with very noisy guests that the guide did not even try to rein in.
